Elephants are peaceful creatures… right?

In reality, we have no idea about the temperament of elephants. While we like to think of them as beautiful, tranquil beasts, their behavior shows that they’re frequently anything but. Haven’t you seen the videos of them knocking over cars?

Still, they *are* beautiful, and thus, we’re naturally drawn to them. Sometimes, we get a little too close, and the elephant has to tell us to back away in the only way it knows how — smacking us as hard as possible.
